Tony Mecia

Project: "The Impact of Anti-Sprawl Policies on America's Cities," focusing on the "smart growth" movement and the effects of "smart growth" policies on cities across the nation.


Bio:

Tony spent more than a decade as a reporter and editor at the Charlotte Observer in North Carolina where he won many awards from the Society of American Business Editors & Writers (SABEW) for his coverage of manufacturing and airline sectors. Tony left the paper in 2009 and is a freelance writer focusing on business and politics. He holds a B.A. in political science and history from Duke University and an M.A. in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
