Lygia is a freelance writer focused on foreign coverage, particularly of Latin America and Latin American issues in the United States. She has reported from Mexico, Cuba, Chile, Argentina, Germany and China for outlets such as the Virginia Quarterly Review, MSNBC.com, Associated Press, the Christian Science Monitor, FRONTLINE/World, Religion Dispatches, Afar, and the public radio programs The World, Marketplace and Latino USA. Lygia is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
