Gary Emerling

Bio:

Gary is the senior digital editor at <a href="http://wtop.com/">WTOP</a> in D.C., serving as a content manager, content editor and writer for the website of the nation's top billing radio station in 2010. He previously worked as a reporter on the Metro desk of The Washington Times, where he covered the administrations of D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, and played a key role in the paper's coverage of the 2008 Republication National Convention and the District of Columbia v. Heller case before the U.S. Supreme Court. He received a B.A. in journalism from Biola University, where he was editor in chief of the weekly student newspaper. Gary recently used portions of his fellowship project to write "Tragedy in Trinidad" for WTOP -- a three-part series about the 2008 murder of a 13-year-old boy in D.C.'s Trinidad neighborhood. http://www.wtop.com/?sid=2287643&nid=906
