Bio:
Project: "Misguided Benevolence: Three Case Studies in American Aid," examining free-market policy alternatives to tackle poverty and instability abroad. Maura is a freelance foreign correspondent and magazine journalist. As a regular contributor to the online international newswire Global Post, she has filed stories from Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tanzania, Haiti and New York. Her work has also appeared in the Columbia Journalism Review, Guernica, Slate, NPR, and TIME.com. Maura frequently works as a stringer for the New York Post, where she has covered crime, courts, and education. In 2008/2009, she was a reporter for The Sunday Times, an English-language newspaper in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
